The things kids say!!!

So, as I said we are moving up north. Matt called and talked to the Bishop of the ward we will be moving into and was inquiring about the youth. The Bishop informed Matt that there were about 40 youth, which included 7 deacons and 8 teachers. After I recieved this information, I wanted to share this with the boys as a way of getting them interested in the new area. After I told Kaden, his reply, was "ya mom, but how many beehives are there"? He is soo cute!

Gramma Benson returns to Heaven

On Tuesday, January 27th my beloved Gramma Benson passed away of old age. I recieved the news while I was at work and thought I was doing pretty good, until I got off and got into the car to go home. Then it all hit me and I cried my way home. I love Gramma Benson and will miss her tons. I am happy though that she is finally with Grampa again after so many years of living alone.(40?)

Where did January go?

Today is January 24th and I haven't blogged anything. It would appear that all is smooth sailing so I decided to write and let you know... It's more like the posiden adventure!
Our lease on this house was supposed to be up the 31st of January, but we couldn't decide what we wanted to do exactly so neglected to give notice. Now we have decided it would be better for the family unit to be in one location instead of having Matt commute and spending three to four nights a week in the Seattle area. SO... we will definately give notice and begin the monumental task of moving this family again. We have already made two trips to the Deseret Industries and sold a pile of books for $64.00 to the Powell Book Store in Portland. (they only bought a fourth of the books too)There are things in my garage that I think, or thought I wanted, but every time I move... it seems I need and want less and less.
It has been a hard decision, whether to stay in Camas or move. Still is a conflict in my mind, but if we stay, Matt will have to commute until the kids finish school. Lets see... That would be 6 1/2 years. Ouch! Makes more sence to move now and give them that time in one place closer to Dads work.
The goal today is to be moved by February 19-20th so that Hunter can still make baseball tryouts in the new school. (this is of great concern too)
Kaden is still in Middle School, and therefore it seems like it is easier to move him than it is going to be for Hunter.
The Adventure Begins AGAIN!

Christmas Spirit

Christmas this year has been a challenge, but one met with little miracles. If I would have been able to, I seriously would have skipped Christmas. We have had several unexpected financial challenges, as well as two kids in College, one without a job. The money drain just never seems to end. BUT, there have been several little miracles bestowed upon our family, Miracles performed by many Christmas elves. Our little family has been blessed this year and each one of us deeply felt the Spirit of Christ and his selfless love. First, Marcia and Richard Moon sent the girls home for Christmas. Without their help, the girls would not have been able to come home. Second, we received our very first Nativity along with some Christmas money from the Christmas Elves. We love the Nativity and the money made it so that the kids could have a "Christmas Morning". We will never forget this special gift and others just like it! Third, Matt's brother Lynn sent a special card, with a little bonus for Matt. This was so unexpected and so needed. Again a blessing! Fourth, my little part-time job gave me a small bonus even though I was new, this helped to ease the grocery bill. I cried! And finally, yet even today, the kids recieved a little Christmas Cash from Aunt Sue and Uncle Robyn Rogers. That really did make each of the kids happy and they plan to have some fun with it too! Thank you everyone, those named and unnamed, You made our Christmas!!
